Logic Frontier Academy in Glendale offers tournament training for kids ages 5 and up who are ready to compete — or preparing for their first tournament.
Train for competition through preparation activities that build confidence and improve tournament performance. Students practice tactics, review games, learn tournament strategies, and sharpen decision-making under pressure.
Students study chess openings common among players in their age group and learn how to respond to typical opening tactics. We arrange practice games so students get used to the pressure and environment of a tournament.
Beyond strategy, students learn essential tournament skills such as proper chess clock handling and move notation — required in most competitive events.
Our coaches support students competing in their first tournament to ease participation and reduce nervousness from lack of experience.
